Deer Park Teachers’ Association
Proudly Serving the Community and Students of Deer Park
Welcome to the Deer Park Teachers’ Association website. The purpose of this website is to provide our members and the public with information about the Deer Park Teachers’ Association. The DPTA is the legally recognized bargaining unit for the teachers and professional staff in the Deer Park School District. The Deer Park teachers are members of the New York State United Teachers. We are also affiliated with the American Federation of Teachers, National Education Association and the AFL-CIO.
Our primary purpose is to work together to maximize educational opportunities available to the students in Deer Park. As teachers in Deer Park, we have become an integral part of the lives of our students and the community. We continue to be involved daily. Look for us at your child’s sporting events, concerts, plays, local benefits, fundraisers, and the list goes on. You can always tell who the DPTA teachers are. They're the ones rooting for your children, telling them how fabulous they are and being there to show that their support goes well beyond the classroom, or even the school day.
There is one phrase that says it all. We Care.

Planning to attend a conference this fall? Check out the new Conference Committee link above.
Thank you to all who helped with the phone banks, putting out signs, labeling and cutting postcards, and sitting in the rain at our NYSUT table at the high school. Without your help, the budget vote would not have been so successful!
Thank you to all the DPTA members who attended the three rounds of Lily Flanagan's Contest for Charity!
Please take the time to read the attached article on Charter Schools from the May 1st edition of The New York Times.
